HISTORY

The Petaling Jaya Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (PJ-BJJ) club was founded in August 2008 by

Tirmizi Y. “Mandeng” and Janson Lee.

Both founders shared a passion for BJJ and had a vision to form an accessible and recreational BJJ training group for Malaysians.

Membership Composition

We are not a "fight gym” - our members are busy corporate executives and professionals, and middle-aged family men whose primary interest in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is fitness and recreational.

We are Weekend Warriors and Dad's Army.

We train BJJ once or twice a week, balancing BJJ practice with our work and family commitments.

Philosophy

Our training is focused on the sports and self-defense aspects of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Our philosophy is simple -
We train BJJ as a hobby and when we can.
